Teaching and Learning Innovation is delighted to welcome two outstanding faculty members as Faculty Fellows for the 2025–2026 academic year.
Dr. Michelle Childs, Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in Retail, Hospitality, and Tourism Management in the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences, will serve as the Faculty Fellow for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). In this role, she will collaborate with Chris Kilgore, Director of Scholarly Teaching and Special Initiatives, to support SoTL-related projects and develop resources that promote evidence-based teaching practices.
Joy Marie Doan, Assistant Professor of Practice in the School of Information Sciences in the College of Communication and Information, has been named the Faculty Fellow for Curriculum Development and Design. She will work alongside the Curriculum Development and Design team to support initiatives such as the Volunteer Faculty Launchpad program for new faculty, individual consultations, and the creation of resources for curriculum mapping and innovative course design.
Both Dr. Childs and Professor Doan have actively participated in past TLI programs and are recognized advocates for teaching excellence in their respective departments. We encourage you to connect with them—or any TLI staff member—if you’d like to learn more about the projects they’ll be leading or the Faculty Fellows program.
