Teaching and Learning Innovation (TLI) is seeking a faculty member to assist the unit with its efforts to support the campus in the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL). This position reports to TLI’s Director for Scholarly Teaching and Special Initiatives and will play an integral role in supporting faculty undertaking SoTL work and developing resources for use within TLI SoTL programs.
Our SoTL Incubator program saves faculty logistical time and effort in reviewing the literature, designing their study, completing IRB paperwork, conducting consent processes and collecting and analyzing data. Faculty from many different disciplines are currently conducting SoTL studies with TLI, from Mathematics to Exercise Science to History and English. These studies also range in size from small single-course studies on experiential learning methods to large curricular innovation studies encompassing multiple sections over multiple years. Nearly all of these studies used mixed methods, collecting quantitative and qualitative data, including surveys, written assignments, and even video transcripts.
Position Summary:
The faculty leader is asked to devote 5-7 hours per week during the 2025-2026 academic year, working with the Director for Scholarly Teaching and Special Initiatives, as well as other TLI staff, to develop and support relevant projects, programs, and resources.
