February 5, 2025

1:00 pm – 2:30 pm

Zoom

Mid-term evaluations provide a valuable opportunity to reflect on your teaching, gain insights into student engagement, and make adjustments that can improve learning outcomes for the rest of the semester. Join us for an interactive two-part workshop series where you’ll create your own mid-term evaluations and learn how to use student feedback to enhance your teaching effectiveness.
Part 1: Building Effective Mid-Term Evaluations
In this hands-on session, you’ll have the opportunity to build your own mid-term evaluation by choosing from various pre-crafted questions that align with the University’s Principles of Excellence in Teaching. You’ll also personalize the evaluation with your own course, department, or discipline-specific questions to gather meaningful feedback from your students.

Part 2: Analyzing Feedback and Setting Goals
In the second session, you’ll analyze the feedback from your mid-term evaluation and reflect on how to use it to set actionable goals. You’ll learn strategies for using student feedback to improve engagement, foster a supportive learning environment, and enhance your teaching practices.
Whether you’re new to mid-term evaluations or looking to refine your approach, this workshop will provide you with practical strategies to continuously improve your teaching throughout the semester. You are welcome to attend either session individually; participation in both sessions is not required.
