Director of Scholarly of Teaching & Special Initiatives
Chris Kilgore, Ph.D., serves as Director for Scholarly Teaching and Special Initiatives within Teaching & Learning Innovation. He leads TLI’s Scholarship of Teaching & Learning programming and resource development, as well as our programs related to generative artificial intelligence in the UT classroom, and TLI’s internal program evaluation processes.
Kilgore earned a Ph.D. in English at the University of Tennessee in 2010, and spent eight years providing writing support for students and faculty, teaching English courses, and studying writing support initiatives and narrative theory, at the University of Texas at Arlington, returning to TLI at UT in 2019. He also holds an M.F.A. in creative writing (fiction) from Saint Mary’s College of California, and a B.A. in English from Whitman College.
