Teaching & Learning Innovation (TLI) is excited to introduce its Certificate Curriculum, comprising six evidence-based professional development certificates designed to support in-depth, flexible, and often self-paced learning for UT faculty, staff, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers.
For Faculty & Instructors

- A self-paced, three-module introduction to designing effective and fair course-level assessments. Participants learn strategies for aligning assessments with learning goals and improving student learning experiences.

- A five-module, self-paced certificate that introduces the foundations of experiential learning and UT’s Experience Learning initiative. Participants explore best practices and student learning outcomes associated with EL pedagogy.

Fostering the Volunteer Experience
- A six-module, asynchronous program focused on well-being pedagogy and the PERMA model. Participants learn how to incorporate well-being principles into their teaching to strengthen student engagement and resilience.

Fostering Belonging in the Classroom
- A five-module certificate that guides participants through core teaching practices. Participants develop strategies to create learning environments where all students feel valued, motivated, and supported.
For Graduate Students & Post-Docs
- UT FUEL Online Course (Asynchronous)
- A self-paced introduction to evidence-based teaching practices for emerging educators. Participants design a class using research-informed methods, reflect on their teaching beliefs, and build a plan for ongoing instructional growth.
- UT CIRTL Teaching Certificate Course (Synchronous)

A six-module synchronous certificate exploring evidence-based approaches to undergraduate teaching. Participants design a class, examine their teaching philosophy, and develop a long-term framework for instructional growth.

- How to Teach Online for Graduate Students (Synchronous)
- A five-part synchronous series offered in partnership with Digital Learning. Participants learn the essentials of online course design, accessibility, engagement strategies, and educational technology.

Badging and Certification
Upon completion of the modules and assessments related to any certificate, the participant will be able to download a link to access a badge that they can attach to any electronic version of their CV. Additionally, participants will also be able to download a certificate that can serve as physical evidence of their completion.
