Teaching the Whole Student: Engaged Learning With Heart, Mind, and Spirit
The authors in this edited volume argue that, if we approach students as just “brains with legs,” it limits the richness, depth, and effectiveness of our teaching. Rather, good teaching can (and should) invite students to draw on their entire human experience as they learn and engage with each other. Especially check out David Shoem’s chapter on “Relational Teaching and Learning” as a framework for learning.
