Teaching & Learning Innovation (TLI) welcomed the newest class of graduate assistants to Rocky Top last week.

TLI faculty consultant Dr. Teresa Hooper led a session designed to help these incoming instructors begin shaping their beliefs and values as they step into their new roles. The presentation provided a broad introduction to evidence-based teaching practices—approaches proven to foster deeper learning and engagement in the classroom.

By exploring both the personal and practical sides of teaching, Dr. Hooper encouraged graduate assistants to reflect on who they want to be as educators, while equipping them with strategies to create effective, student-centered learning experiences from day one!
