Designing for Academic Integrity: Scaffolding

When students feel an assignment is too hard or don’t know how to connect what they’re learning to the task, they’re more likely to take shortcuts.
Scaffolding major assignments helps reduce that temptation and boosts confidence and motivation along the way. By breaking large projects into smaller, purposeful steps, students build the skills (and assurance!) they need to complete complex work with integrity.
