This year, the Leadership Development Academy is designed for faculty and staff interested in developing basic leadership coaching skills and exploring how to apply leadership coaching in a range of classroom and experiential learning contexts. Leadership coaching is a collaborative process focused on fostering growth, inspiring learning, and helping students achieve their academic, personal, civic, and professional goals. Participants will develop a “coaching mindset,” gaining skills to foster continuous reflection, facilitate thought-provoking dialogue, and implement strategies that empower students to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
Participants will be eligible to apply for $2,500 mini-grants, sponsored by the Jones Center for Leadership and Service, to incorporate what they have learned into their programs and/or academic courses following the LDA.
This year’s LDA is designed for faculty and staff interested in practicing basic International Coaching Federation competencies related to leadership coaching. The LDA is co-sponsored by the Jones Center for Leadership and Service, Teaching and Learning Innovation, Access and Engagement, Leadership Studies, and Student Success. Please email Brandon Kliewer, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Civic & Organizational Leadership & Interim Faculty Director of the Jones Center for Leadership and Service, for more information (bkliewer@utk.edu).
