Be Well is the Employee Wellness Program of the University of Tennessee. The mission of Be Well is to encourage University of Tennessee employees to be well through physical activity, nutrition, and tobacco cessation through the following programs:
- Many annual programs and events such Yoga Fest, Great American Smoke Out, Employee Health and Fitness Weeks, etc. are held to promote health and wellbeing among the UT Campus Community.
- You can also sign up to be serve as a Wellness Champion and be the first to know about our wellness initiatives and share them with your coworkers.

Faculty should refer students to the Center for Career Development for a wide variety of career-related needs. To schedule an appointment with Career Exploration or Consultants, students should call the main appointment line at (865) 974 – 5435 or visit Handshake to schedule a meeting. Staff can assist in the following and more:
- Career Counselors can assist students with choosing or changing majors and careers.
- The Career Exploration staff is available to work with students one-one-one to help them learn about their interests, skills, and values in order to determine a field of study. Typical support services include the Focus Personality Assessment, helping research majors and careers, and interpreting assessments, such as the Strong Interest Inventory.
- Career Consultants can asssist students with reaching their career goals through internships, job searches or graduate school admissions.
The Center for Career Development staff members are also available to present in classes, organization meetings and other settings on a variety of career related topics. The mission of the Center for Health Education & Wellness (CHEW) is to engage in prevention and intervention efforts to increase awareness, impact decision making, and positively influence our university community through the following:
- CHEW’s prevention efforts are grounded in the Center for Disease Control’s Social Ecological Model.
- The Center utilizes campus surveys, national statistics, and current research to inform its evidence-based prevention and intervention strategies.
- CHEW seeks to advance UT’s commitments to excellence in outreach and engagement through programming that educates the UT community about their own health and wellness and encourages them to actively advocate for the health and wellness of their fellow Volunteers.

The English Language Institute can offer training for faculty members on best practices for teaching international students. This can include general training workshops or one-on-one consultations. The HITS lab has a twofold mission: promote active learning through simulation and develop/test health innovation technology. This inter-professional lab is a joint endeavor between Tickle College of Engineering and the College of Nursing. The Co-Directors, Drs. Wyatt and Li, share a long term goal to become a federally funded center housing state-of-the-art simulation and healthcare technologies to support testing, technology development, and intellectual property (IP) generation.

The mission of the Office of the Dean of Students is to engage and support students throughout their learning experience by providing co-curricular programs and services. Faculty should be aware of the 865-974-HELP referral line for students in distress. This line is answered 24/7, and follows the following process:
- During the week day hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., case managers and staff within the Office of Dean of Students answer the calls. During after-hours and weekends/holidays, the calls are answered by trained mental health professionals, who then provide information to the Dean of Students’ Case Managers on the next business day
- A case manager gathers information about you and your concern. The information gathered is kept private.
- If you are calling for someone else, your identity is kept private unless you want the student to be aware that you reached out. A case manager will contact the student by phone or email to set up a meeting. The student will be connected and referred to the appropriate resources with ongoing support as needed.
- Once we meet with a student, we may be limited in our ability to share information with others due to privacy laws.

The Office of Undergraduate Research serves as an umbrella for on-campus faculty mentored research and a bridge for connecting students to opportunities outside of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The Office has a wide range of responsibilities:
- The Office provides funding for student assistants, student travel grants, international research scholarships, coordinates on-campus presentation and publication opportunities, as well as off-campus student research conferences of strategic importance to UT.

SGR is an interdisciplinary group of members of the UT community who share an interest in researching the use of simulations, gaming, role-playing, and similar strategies for teaching and learning.

Overview
The University of Tennessee Libraries offers instruction, resources, and spaces to enhance teaching, learning, and innovation. Librarians in the John C. Hodges Library, Pendergrass Agriculture & Veterinary Medicine Library, and the George F. DeVine Music Library are partners in fostering student success and empowering faculty teaching and research.
Librarians serve as liaisons to all academic departments and are available to support instructional needs both in-person and online. Tailored to course needs and available for general education, upper-division undergraduate, and graduate coursework, offerings include:

Librarian-led Instruction
Librarian-led instruction equips students with the information literacy skills needed to navigate scholarly research and contribute to real-world problem-solving through finding, evaluating, synthesizing, and sharing information. In collaboration with instructors, librarians can also design and develop online resources, such as research guides and tutorials. Specialized instructional offerings on copyright and publishing, data management, geospatial resources, and primary source materials are also available.
Access to Teaching Materials
In addition to providing instruction, the Libraries also facilitate access to teaching materials, both print and online, and for use in the classroom or on Canvas. The Libraries can help instructors place books, articles, or other materials on course reserve; find, adopt, or modify open educational resources (OERs); and incorporate documentaries, plays, videos, and music streamed to computers and mobile devices. Library Resources & Spaces
Library resources and spaces are also designed to support teaching and learning in and beyond the classroom. Located in Hodges Library, The Studio is a media production lab with specialized software and equipment, including audio and video recording capabilities and large-format printing. Studio members are available to assist students in learning this technology and to work with instructors on incorporating media projects into coursework. Additional equipment, printing offerings, and expertise are available at Pendergrass Library.
The Commons
The Commons, a partnership between the UT Libraries and the Office of Information Technology (OIT), is a technology-rich, informal learning space in Hodges Library that has grown into a go-to destination for teaching and learning. The Commons provides opportunities to support instruction, experiential learning, and engagement in and beyond the classroom. The space offers students software and technology for class projects, equipment for checkout (laptops, scanners, video cameras, and more), collaborative workspaces, and group study rooms. Current Commons partners include the Student Success Center, Math Tutorial Center, Writing Center, and Stat 201 Lab. OIT resources include instructional support for faculty integrating technology into their classes and Digital Media Services (DMS), which provides a full range of digitization services including conversion of physical materials to electronic text, digital images, and streaming.
