Are you a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow interested in learning more or enhancing your teaching? Join us for “Facilitating Undergraduate Evidence-Based Learning (FUEL)” professional development seminar in Summer 2023. 

This 6-module professional development seminar introduces participants to evidence-based teaching and learning practices.


Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows can enjoy a number of benefits from participating in UT CIRTL FUEL:

  • Earn the internationally-recognized CIRTL Associate Certification, which can be included in a teaching portfolio or on a vitae
  • Develop knowledge about the most current teaching and learning research
  • Apply the following teaching and learning concepts of evidence-based teaching concepts: evidence-based teaching strategies, learning through diversity, teaching as research, and learning communities
  • Build a learning community with like-minded students from different disciplines to think about and discuss various topics related to teaching and learning


Summer CIRTL F.U.E.L. will be offered in two ways: (1) online using Canvas or (2) in-person on UT campus.

Please read the following descriptions to determine which option is best for you and follow the registration link below.

Online: This online course will begin Thursday, May 18th. This online version may be completed at your own pace, but must be completed no later than June 7th (end of Summer Mini-term).

In-person: This seminar will follow the schedule listed below. Please reach out to if you have any scheduling issues.

Session 1 – Thursday, May 18th, 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm in Strong Hall B-1
Session 2 – Friday, May 19th, 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm in Strong Hall B-1
Session 3 – Monday, May 22nd, 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm in Strong Hall B-1
Session 4 – Wednesday, May 24th, 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm in Strong Hall B-1
Session 5 – Friday, May 26th, 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm in Strong Hall B-1
Session 6 – Tuesday, May 30th, 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm in Strong Hall B-1
