Teaching & Learning Innovation is excited to announce that our call for proposals is NOW OPEN for our virtual 2026 Innovative Teaching and Learning Conference. This year’s conference theme is:
Teaching and Learning with Joy: Purpose, Connection, and Possibility
What brings us joy in teaching and learning? How can we create more of it across the educational experience? This year’s conference invites faculty, researchers, practitioners, students, and educational partners to reflect on and share the moments, practices, and ideas that make their work meaningful and energizing.
We welcome proposals that explore teaching and learning as joyful, evolving practices, grounded in purpose and driven by care, curiosity, and innovation. We are interested in how joy informs and transforms your approach, whatever your role, context, or contribution to the educational experience.
Join us as we reimagine education not just as a system or profession, but as a vibrant, human-centered pursuit, rich with purpose, connection, and possibility.
Date: Thursday, March 26, 2025
Time: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (EDT)
Location: Virtual Event
We invite you to submit your proposal and share your research, experiences, and ideas on how to cultivate an environment that fosters authenticity and transformation, ultimately enhancing teaching and learning success.
To guide your submission and help you align your ideas with our conference goals, we have outlined our conference formats, designated tracks, and scoring rubric.
Conference Formats
We offer five conference formats for your participation, each designed to facilitate unique interactions and knowledge-sharing opportunities. We encourage you to choose the format that best aligns with your presentation style and objectives, enhancing the overall experience for both you and your participants. Here are the formats with their brief descriptions:
Digital Poster Session (50 minutes)
A digital poster session offers presenters an interactive and engaging way to showcase their research and ideas. In this format, each presenter or team uses a single slide to display their work and engage in real-time discussions with participants.
Shared Mini Presentation (25 minutes)
A shared mini-presentation format brings together presenters whose work addresses similar themes or topics. Each presenter or team is allotted 20 minutes for their presentation and 5 minutes for a Q&A session. This shared session structure aims to foster thematic connections, active discussion, and collaborative learning.
Presentation (50 minutes)
A presentation format offers the presenters the opportunity to introduce and share content through slides, visuals, or other media to enhance participants’ understanding. The format can foster audience engagement by including interactive elements like Q&A sessions, polls, and chats.
Roundtable Discussion/Panel (50 minutes)
A roundtable discussion/panel format is designed to facilitate informal conversations among the presenters and participants. The primary aim is to encourage open dialogue, share insights, experiences, and best practices related to the topic.
Workshop (100 minutes)
A workshop session involves presenters engaging participants in practical learning experiences and encouraging active involvement. The primary aim is to deepen skills and understanding through hands-on applications.
