As part of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), service-learning has been recognized as one of the 12 types of experiential learning offered to UT Knoxville students. Courses that receive the service-learning (S) designation have met the university’s standards for what is considered to be an effective, rewarding service-learning opportunity for students, faculty and community partners. Since its implementation in Fall 2016, 17 courses across a wide range of academic disciplines have earned the S-Designation.
